At the Blessed Sacrament Catholic primary School, we have introduced a program to all year groups called My Happy Mind. It is all based around helping children to understand how their brain works and to support them in developing positive skill and habits to be their very best selves.

We encourage discussions and learn strategies to help us to deal with challenging situations and tricky times in our lives. We teach skills of collaboration, resilience and tolerance as part of our sessions and throughout our everyday learning in school.

"The introduction of 'My Happy Mind' has had a positive impact on the mental health and wellbeing of the children throughout the school.

The children talk confidently about different parts of the brain and how this affects their emotion and behaviour.

They use strategies such as happy breathing independently to help them to manage their feelings when they are overwhelmed or disregulated"
