Last week in 3B we were learning about the water cycle. To help us, we conducted an experiment to see what happens to water in the water cycle.
First, the sun heats up the water in the sea and creates water vapour which rises up to the sky. Water vapour is a gas so you can’t see it. We learnt that this process is called evaporation.
Then, the water gets cold and it is compacted tightly into cloud and turned back into a liquid. This is called condensation.
Next is precipitation. This is when the clouds and air can’t hold the water anymore and water falls out of the sky which we call rain!
The rain then lands into rivers, lakes or seas or runs off into them and the whole cycle starts again!
We really enjoyed learning about the water cycle and the experiment really helped us visualise the process of the water cycle.
