1 Blessed have settled into Year 1 wonderfully and have been hard at work all week. Today we went for a walk around school to look at the local area around The Blessed Sacrament school. This is for our current Geography topic of ‘Our local area’.

Reception have enjoyed the sun.

In Reception we have been enjoying the sunshine by using our outdoor area. The children have been using their gross motor skills to pop bubbles, ride scooters and twirl the ribbons. The children have been building houses using the crates and setting up picnics.

In Reception the children have been looking at the story “The tiger who came for tea”. The children have enjoyed exploring the story and holding tiger tea parties in the home corner. We have been talking about what we would do if a tiger came for tea and what we would feed it.

Reception blue cross visit.

Reception has a visitor from the blue cross come in and talk to use about how to care for pets. The children enjoyed listening and learning lots of different and new things about animals. We will be able to use all this new knowledge in our Summer 1 topic of animals.

Vegetable tasting

As part of our Literacy lesson related to our book Oliver’s Vegetables the children tried different vegetables. The children used all of their senses when trying the vegetables. We looked, smelt and tasted them. We used beetroot, turnip, carrot and cabbage. Once the children had tried all theā€¦
