Year 2 had a lovely visit over to church this afternoon as part of our R.E. Work.

It was great to visit church and have the chance to ask questions and explore items that are in the church.

Ask your children to explain what the pictures are.

4 Blessed loved the Ancient Greek workshop in school today. We learnt about what Ancient Greeks enjoyed, how they ran their cities, how they chose the rulers for their cities and had a look at some artefacts. Take a look at the pictures and videos of what we have done.

Year 4 had a wonderful overnight experience at Castlerigg Manor in Keswick. 

We stayed overnight and completed the programme ‘Let Your Light Shine’ thinking about what we are good at and how we can share this with others. Take a look at the photos to see what we got up…

As part of our pastoral learning around Baptism, Year 4 visited church to see what happens. 

The children enjoyed seeing the visible signs of Baptism, exploring the Font and speaking to Deacon Michael about his experiences of Baptism.

4 Blessed loved having a taster session of Yoga!

They found the strategies for relaxation and reducing anxiety really helpful - we continued them when we returned to the classroom! Ask your child to show you.

For the first English unit of 2024, Year 4 have been learning the poem 'Macavity'.

4 Blessed enjoyed using their acting skills to think about how the characters in the story were feeling.

Our current text is 'Puss in Boots' - the children have enjoyed predicting what might happen!

We are so proud of the children who took part in the Mini Games event at Westview today. 6 children from Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 represented us in a variety of activities including relay races, throwing and kicking balls.

As part of our RE this half term, Year 4 visited Church to have a look at what is used in a Baptism in church. They very much enjoyed their visit and were pleased to get back into church again after so long.

Year 4 finally made it to Brockholes for the long awaited trip! 

We enjoyed a walk to the forest, mini beast hunting and bird watching as well as eating our lunch with a fantastic view.
