Fire is a dragon!
We are ready to read the book ' Out and About' by Shirley Hughes. As a hook into our Poetry learning we built a fire in the garden and talked about all the amazing vocabulary to describe 'fire'.

1B Our first photo in Year 1
And just like that we have completed our first week in Year 1.

It is Science Week!
This term we are thinking about our wonderful bodies.
I asked the children ‘How does your hand move?’ We had some great ideas but to find out exactly how our hands work we made a robotic hand. The children were amazed by the results.

London Messy Mapping
In Geography we have been finding out about the countries and capital cities of the UK. We have messy mapping the landmarks of London. We added the River Thames, Tower Bridge and the London Eye.

Our senses
We are learning about our body in Science.
This week we have been testing our senses. We matched sounds, smelled and tasted food, sorted textures and tried to complete everyday tasks whilst blind folded.

Our School family
Last week we had a tour of school looking for all the people who make up 'Our school family'.

Welcome to 1B

We have had a lovely few days getting to know each other in 1B. The children have settled into their new classroom very well. We have been learning about our corridor Saint; St. Patrick and making shamrock collage pictures to make a super display in school.
