Our wonderful Prayer room has been transformed for Advent. Each week two children take turns to prepare for our worship.  

In outdoor adventures we found a tiny spider in our garden and brought it back to the classroom and used a digital magnifying glass and watched how it uses its legs to spin a web. Just amazing!

We made a remembrance wreath in class and walked to St Mary Magdeline Church to pay our respects. 

There has been an awful lot of crime in the area recently and our Police Officers have been very busy fighting crime!

What a great start to school!

We have had a super week meeting new friends and trying new activities.

We've been back in the garden to make observations of the plants since our last walk in the Autumn.

Year 1 had another fantastic World Book Day, with a real life author visit from Helen Dewhurst with her exclusive new book release, a parade, stories and crafts throughout the day.

We are ready to read the book ' Out and About' by Shirley Hughes. As a hook into our Poetry learning we built a fire in the garden and talked about all the amazing vocabulary to describe 'fire'.

What a great day we had a the zoo.

And just like that we have completed our first week in Year 1.

We are planning to take a photo every month as part of our Science observation of the seasons.
