First Week in Y3

What an amazing week that we have had in Year 3!  The children have settled into their new routines wonderfully.

In Year 3, we are putting a huge focus on ensuring that we are developing our skills of reading and our times tables.  Your child should have come home with their Boom Reader login code over the last week and we ask that you listen to your child at least 3 times a week and log their reading on Boom Reader.  On top of this, we ask that you ensure that your child brings their reading book into school every day (even if they have not read at home) so that we can listen to your child read in school.  To try and encourage your child to read at home, we will be celebrating successes within classes and in assemblies.

 

Your child may have also been given a target times table to work on.  This can be through playing online games, rote learning or just by answering questions from another person.  When a child feels that they know their target times table, they will be assessed within class and if they are successful will be given a new target to work on.
