This term in science, 6B have been exploring the circulatory system and how it affects their bodies. We completed an experiment where they ran a lap of the playground and then recorded how their heart rates had changed. 

This week in English, we have been looking at the poem, The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. We have looked at vocabulary within the poem but to help us understand it more we have acted out scenes from the poem!

We have been learning about the positive impact our actions can have on others. Recently, we visited our Reception pupils to help them with their reading by sharing a story together in their classrooms. The reading session was enjoyed by all!

We have been working very hard during our phonics lessons. This week after learning the c sound we made cats. We used what have learnt in our phonics lessons to spell the word cat. We used our robot arms to say each of the sounds before writing the word. 
 

Last week pupils spent time researching a famous person. They created a poster about the person and included many details about their lives and successes. Pupils then shared the information with a partner or in a small group. It was great to see pupils using their speaking and listening skills so…

Fantastic efforts from Year 5 in gymnastics this week. Pupils were asked to work with a partner to create a balance on a piece of apparatus. Excellent work from everyone!

Year 4 showed our support of mental health by making yellow wristbands. 

Today we talked a lot about our mental health to acknowledge World Mental Health Day. We discussed ways we can look after our thoughts and feelings.

A very wet but exciting walk around Moor Park this week! We saw squirrels, collected conkers,walked under a bridge, saw a pond and waterfall and found the observatory.

There has been an awful lot of crime in the area recently and our Police Officers have been very busy fighting crime!

Design Technology is a favourite lesson for lots of the class. We used our skills of joining and strengthening to make a chair for a teddy.
