Today we explored a variety of puppets. It was a great start to our new design and technology unit. We will be learning all about puppets, designing and making our own. 
 

This week we have been learning about Eid. The children decorated the home corner and designed their own beautiful mehndi patterns. They were very interested when Mrs. Kamran came to nursery to tell and show us photographs of  how she had celebrated Eid with her family.

This term, children in 5B will be developing their teamwork and problem solving skills during PE lessons. This weeks game was to guide each other to an end point whilst blindfolded. Reception has a visitor from the blue cross come in and talk to use about how to care for pets. The children enjoyed listening and learning lots of different and new things about animals. We will be able to use all this new knowledge in our Summer 1 topic of animals.

We've been back in the garden to make observations of the plants since our last walk in the Autumn.

We had a lovely first day back after the Easter break!

Our new book in English is I Want a Pet by Lauren Child. We read it and then predicted what might hatch from the egg. There were lots of fantastic ideas.

It was eyes down for our annual Easter bingo where some delicious looking chocolate hampers were won.  Yummy!

6 Blessed were the perfect teachers to 3 Blessed as they  guided them around the Stations of the Cross in Church and explained what happened at each station.  Year 3 were quizzed on their knowledge at the end and I’m pleased to say were able to talk confidently about each station.  Well done…

Despite the awful weather, the whole school took part in our Big Walk for Lent on Monday 25th March 2024.  All classes were timetabled to keep a continuous walk from 9am to 3pm.  Unfortunately, due to the rain, we couldn’t all get out to cheer EYFS on as they finished, but nevertheless, a…

The Lancashire Library Service Library Bus visited us yesterday. Our new librarians chose nearly 400 new books for us to borrow. These will be in our school library soon. It was lovely to see the children so excited about books and reading. 
 

Year 1 made palm branches in class last week. Next we went on a parade around school singing, “ Sing Hosanna to the King of Kings.” and waving our branches. 

The children in 4B made paper maché volcanoes as part of their art project. Once they were painted, we were extremely pleased with how they turned out.
